As a remembrance of my more successful turkey hunts, I have several full mounted turkeys on display within my home, but as the hunts still go on every May, the room for such mounts in my livingroom has reached it's maximum and the cost of full mounts is increasingly expensive. With the need to still remember the success and excitement of each hunt, I needed to find a way to preserve in a smaller way. So, with a simple idea and a lot of time and effort, the Turkey Beard Display Ring was patented. We have had the "rings" field tested by the North American Hunting Club and have gotten a 92% approval rating.

The Turkey Beard Display Ring

The Turkey Beard Display Ring is designed to hang the beard of a turkey using part or all of your empty shotgun shell. The "ring" fits snuggly into the knocked out primer hole of any size spent shotgun shell. The threaded end of the "ring" threads into the fleshy end of the turkey beard and your turkey beard is that simply ready for hanging anywhere you choose.

The shotgun shell used to display your beard can be any gauge shell and can use all of the shell or have the plastic partially or completely trimmed from the brass hull. The brass can be polished to a shine and dates or places of the hunt can even be engraved or written on the shell.

What you Need and What you Get

The Display Rings are inexpensive and very easy to use. A package of 4 Display Rings also contains a package of labeled instant preservative agent to dip the flesh end of the beard into, and complete easy assembly instructions. There are no glues or wires required and the whole process takes only two minutes to complete. The only tool required is a punch or blunt object to knock out the primer on the shotgun shell. If you are using the "rings" on already cured or dried beards, you may need to pre-drill the fleshy end to get the threaded end started.

Where to Display Your Beards

Displaying your turkey beards using the Turkey Beard Display Rings has endless possibilities. They can be hung from a simple nail or hook on the wall or they can be hung on a decorative board or plaque. They can hang from the shaft of an arrow or from the antler of a deer mount. The options are up to your imagination. Says the New York Times, "It's a Patent For a Hunter's Trophy".

We now have available two sizes of our own design multi-turkey beard plaques. The "Tom" plaque, pictured above, holds up to 16 beards and is available in dark walnut and golden oak stain. The "Jake" plaque holds up to 8 beards and is available in dark walnut and cherry stain. Your tail fan added to the plaques makes them truely a trophy worthy of displaying in any home or cabin.

All plaques are custom made out of solid oak select lumber. Display rings are included with each plaque (4 packages with "Tom" plaques and 2 packages with "Jake" plaques). Each plaque comes with predrilled holes for assembly, all screws, washer for tail fan mounting, preservative for tail fan, cup hooks, wall hanging bracket and complete assembly instructions. These display plaques are unique and beautiful accents to your trophy displays and not found anywhere else since we designed and make them ourselves.
